Welcome
Welcome to St John Bosco Primary School.
At St John Bosco Primary School, our mission is to provide high-quality teaching and learning opportunities, rooted in the values of the Catholic faith, where children’s passions are ignited and potential discovered.
Our mission is inspired by the work of St John Bosco, who dedicated himself to educating the young.
Our nurturing school ethos is centred around our core values of:
Respect, Trust, Teamwork, Diligence, Aspiration and Resilience
to empower our pupils to become thriving individuals and successful, life-long learners, who will make positive contributions to the world around them.
Together, we strive towards a common goal:
‘Inspiring Hearts, Igniting Minds, Flourishing in Faith’

Parental Feedback
‘As I parent of a child in Primary One, I am forever grateful to Mrs Crossen for all her hard work and dedication to the pupils. She goes above and beyond for the children. The reading information session was very helpful in explaining the literacy programme. The Nativity, Mother’s Day Assembly and school shows are excellent. I often hear at home, 'Mummy I just love Mrs Crossen' and as a parent, I am delighted how well my child is treated in school. I can only hope that as our time in St. John Bosco P.S continues, that he loves it as much! Thank you very much for the settling in period review.’
'SJB is a lovely school and as a parent I am so grateful and proud that my son is part of this special and close knit community. We couldn't ask for more. Staff are so approachable. They each have such a warm and lovely manner.'
'My son started P1 in September and is absolutely thriving. He’s bursting with confidence, loves going to school, and skips in the door every morning! On the way home, he often asks, “Do we have school again tomorrow?” which really says it all about how happy he is there.
My daughter is now in P4 and has been at the school since P1. She started off quite shy and reserved, but her confidence has grown so much each year. She’s become so independent with her homework and recently joined the Eco Team, which she absolutely loves. The variety of after-school activities really gives the children so many opportunities to get involved.
The Breakfast Club is also such a great support for working families. it makes such a difference.
And finally, a special mention to her teacher. My daughter absolutely adores Miss McGurk! She says she’s the luckiest girl alive to have the same teacher two years in a row, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoys being in her class.'
'I was very encouraged to hear that after my child expressed she experiences anxiety and a tendency to fret, Mrs McGurk discreetly assured her she was always there to help and support her. This was lovely to hear as a parent but my daughter also felt very comforted by it so thank you to Mrs McGurk.
Mr O'Boyle has made some very positive changes to the school. There are lots of new after-school activities for the children and the introduction of a Breakfast Club. He is friendly and approachable and always there in the mornings to welcome the children. I really appreciate his more flexible approach to homework which will provide relief in the evening for busy parents or some children who may struggle. Relaxing a little on what children bring in their lunch has also been a welcome change. Emphasising the importance of ensuring a child eats as opposed to only allowing the healthiest of options is incredibly understanding and much appreciated. Thank you Mr O'Boyle'

Our School Prayer
This is our school
Let peace dwell here
Let it be full of contentment
Let love abide here
Love of one and other
Love of mankind
Love of life itself
And love of God
Let us remember
That as many hands build a house
Many hearts make our school.
